The promise made by the chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to release Krishna water in the district has been fulfilled.
The minister made these remarks after releasing water from Jurala parallel canal at Nandimalla village in Atmakoor mandal to Bhima Project on Thursday. Addressing the gathering, Harish Rao said the people of the district have the first right to Krishna water, and promised that by next year, water for 8 lakh acres would be provided, undertaken at a cost of `700 crore, when all the pending projects would get completed.
The government has also acquired 2,500 acres for Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation scheme, he added.
He alleged that the leaders who had supported former AP CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy were shedding crocodile tears by raising the issue of irrigation projects. He made it clear that the state government would expedite PRLI project, adding that the CM would soon lay the foundation stone for the commencement of Tummadi Hatti lift irrigation project works. The minister also unveiled the stage-2 Jawahar Nettempadu lift irrigation project at Ryalampadu village in Dharoor mandal.
Meanwhile, Health minister C Laxma Reddy said that the government was completing all the pending projects to irrigate the entire district and turn it into a green hub.
TRS taking credit for projects by Congress: DK Aruna
Taking a dig at the ruling party, Congress MLA DK Aruna alleged that the TRS is taking credit for the projects completed by the Congress governments in the past by laying foundation stone and changing their names.
