Goreti Venkanna receives Kaloji award

Telangana government on Friday conferred the Kaloji Puraskaram on poet-folk singer Goreti Venkanna. The government also observed Telangana language day on Friday on the occasion of poet Kaloji Narayana Rao's 102nd birth anniversary . The state government instituted Kaloji Puraskaram last year and declared the iconic poet's birthday as Telangana language day . “It is the government's greatness that it conferred this award on me and it is the greatness of people of Telangana, of whom I am just a reflection,“ said Venkanna after accepting the award at an event held at Ravindra Bharati.
